Minutes of Meeting: held Thursdav. March 9. 2006
Finance Committee Members Present:

These minutes were prepared by Greg Arnold. The meeting was opened at 7:00 p.m.
Matters Discussed and/or Voted On

Jess Aptowitz and Greg Arnold presented reviews of their recent meering with the Assessor, the
Fire Deartment and the DPW. All in all, there were no surprises and the biggest item was the
Fire Department's request for 4 new hires. Although there was general agreement that additional
firefighters may be needed, it was clear that the budget would have to be cut in other areas to
account for the new hires. A meeting with the Police Department was still in the process of
being scheduled.
Charlene Laving reported on the Consolidation Committee, indicating that the Schools had
presented a list of areas in which they felt they could recognize efficiencies if given control
(Parks & Rec/Field Maintenance; Technology/MIS; and Custodians/Building Maintenance).
A general discussion was had on the 5- Year Forecast and the School expansion presentation.
The Meeting closed at approximately 8:30 p.m.
