Discussion
Michael Trowbridge explained the purpose of the workshop was to discuss projected needs and priorities for the
district over the next five years, as part of a 5 -Year Narrative being developed for the Budget Subcommittee.
Discussion centered around the areas of Capital Improvements, Planned /Expected Program Implementation,
Student Enrollment Projections, Student Staff Ratios, Contract Schedules, Performance Targets, and Special
Education needs. Zeff Gianetti outlined suggestions compiled by the central office and building administrators.
Additions to that list were suggested and discussed. It was noted that much of the work of the district depends
on directives from the state, so that any list of priorities that the Committee develops is subject to change and is
constantly evolving. It was also noted that student needs also are constantly evolving, so changes in staffing or
programming to address those needs can be difficult to project long term.
An overall list of the priorities discussed will be shared with the Budget Subcommittee at its next meeting on
March 23.
At 7:38 p.m., Michael Trowbridge asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion was made by Kiera O'Neil
and seconded by Linda Fernando, Motion UC 5 -6.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Cavicchi
