- At 6:15pm, Ben Masison came in to discuss his Eagle Scout project at the Old Town Cemetery.
He gave a handout explaining 6 potential objectives for the cleanup of the cemetery. He would
like to take two weekends to work on it and get whatever objectives done that he can. Sherri
Gurnon reminded Ben to be in touch with Corie Siena, Program Director of Cemetery
Restoration, on his objectives. Corie would be overseeing the project, as well.
-At 6:30pm, Megan Crotty and Jenn Morris from Friends of Memorial Park came to update the
Recreation Commission on their endeavors. They explained their past fundraisers and discussed
future events. Jenn stated that they have submitted for 501 (c) 3 status so they can apply for state
and federal grants and any money FOMP raises will be put into Mansfield Bank. They are also
going to reach out to corporations and large businesses in town for financial support. Jenn was
hoping to get the word out through more Park and Recreation events. Sherri said they are
welcome to put any information in the Fishing Derby and Halloween Parade goodie bags that are
given out.

Sherri wanted to open up a few hours on Sunday as there are a lot of calls requesting the use of
the field. Being able to grant some of these requests can bring in money to the Recreation
Department. Sherri mentioned that MYS uses Sundays for makeup games and practice. Sherri
Gurnon asked that we request the use of the Plymouth Street facility from 8am -2pm on Sundays
and MYS can have the facility from 2pm -dusk.

-RBI Academy requested use of Plymouth Street turf on Sunday. Sherri Gumon stated that she
felt if they allowed this, it would set a president for further requests for other non - soccer use. Ed
Westhaver agreed and feels that the Plymouth Street turf has should remain for soccer use only.
Mitch Bregnard told Sherri to let them know that "at this time the board is restricting use of the
Plymouth Street turf for soccer use only" and therefore, we would be denying their request.

- Election of a 2015 Chairman and Clerk was tabled until more members can be present.
- Sheri Gurnon asked the board to review the MHS Parks and Recreation Scholarship to see if
they felt there should be any changes made to it. Board members agreed to leave it as it is.
-Board discussed Program Director responsibilities as there needs to be an understanding
between the Recreation Department and the program directors that all players must be registered
because of, most importantly, the liability issue and a loss of revenue to the department. Mitch
felt that we need to visit the programs to be sure they are in compliance of this.
- Sherri reminded the board to take their "Conflict of Interest" training.
-A new program is being considered called "Kripalu Yoga" with Lisa Cohen on Saturday
mornings for 8 weeks starting in April.
