APRIL 4, 1987
Present: Chairman Quinn, Clerk Annino
Planners: Caponigro, Flynn, Genatossio, Madan, Sohn
Planner Madan presented the Planning Board with a new Downtown Zoning
Article and explained that this would require a Special Permit for those
existing properties in the Downtown Business Zone which have frontage on
North Main Street and which do not have an existing or proposed commercial
use on the first floor. The entire article reads as follows:
TO SEE IF THE TOWN WILL AMEND THE ZONING BY -LAW
AND TO AMEND THE TOWN ZONING MAP TO THE EXTENT
NECESSARY TO CREATE A SPECIAL PERMIT REQUIREMENT
FOR THOSE EXISTING PROPERTIES IN THE DOWNTOWN
BUSINESS ZONE WHICH HAVE FRONTAGE ON NORTH MAIN
STREET AND WHICH DO NOT HAVE AN EXISTING OR PROPOSED
COMMERCIAL USE ON THE FIRST FLOOR, BY ADDING TO
SECTION III.G.15. OF THE MANSFIELD ZONING BY -LAW
THE FOLLOWING LANGUAGE AS SHOWN IN QUOTES (" ").
15. NEW CONSTRUCTION OR CONVERSION OF EXISTING
STRUCTURES FOR MULTI- FAMILY DWELLINGS ON A PARCEL
OF LAND OF ONE ACRE OR MORE "AND /OR IF THE PROPERTY
FRONTS ALONG NORTH MAIN STREET AND DOES NOT INCLUDE
A FIRST FLOOR COMMiERCIAL USE" SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION V -M.
The following motions were made at this meeting:
Motion: Send a letter to the Town Clerk notifying her of Planner Madan's
Zoning Article to be included in the Annual or Special Town
Meeting. Sponsor: Planning Board
(Genatossio - Flynn) All in favor. PASSES.
Motion: To advertise the Downtown Zoning Article as originally submitted.
(Genatossio- Flynn) All in favor. PASSES.
Motion: To advertise Planner Madan's article regarding the Downtown Zoning
Article.
(Genatossio - Madan) All in favor. PASSES.
Motion: To advertise the Trash -to- Energy article on Tuesday, April 7 and
Win the Sun Chronicle.
(Genatossio - Flynn) All in favor. PASSES.
