Present: Chairperson Flynn, Clerk Quinn

Planning Director Callinan
1. Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M.
2. Planning Session
Fire Chief Edward A. Sliney
Chief Sliney presented the Board with copies of past cor-
respondence relating to buildings and land to be considered
for Police and Fire Department facilities, to include train-
ing facilities. The possibility of constructing a Fire Sta-
tion near the Department of Public Works building on East
Street would not be advisable due to the fact that it would
de- centralize the Fire Station and take it too far away from
the Industrial Park. Chief Sliney stated there had been talk
at one time of putting a sub - station at the Cabot, Cabot and
Forbes Industrial Park and also one in the East Mansfield
area. In March of 1986 a real estate agent quoted the price
of property next to the present fire station at $250,000.00.
The owner of this property will sell to the Town. However,
current plans are to use this for downtown parking. The
present fire station could be expanded using this property.
A request was submitted for $12,000.00 for a space needs
study. This amount has been given to the Police Department
account and is to be used for both Police and Fire Department
space needs studies. Chief. Sliney stated he is hopeful that
the Planning Board will follow through with the Municipal
Building Recycling and Rehabilitation study and that the
problems will be addressed.

permit application should be submitted. Plans should be

9. Site Plan Review
Chauncy Street - Applicant: Nick's Realty Trust
This site plan review is for an addition to Nick's Auto Body
Shop on Chauncy Street. Town Engineer Joseph J. Campo noted
that the plan shows a b" service connection going into a b"
service line extension and did not feel additional connec-
tions would be advisable to this undersized line. However,
