January 21, 1986
The Board of Appeals held its regular meeting in the Town Hall, Mansfield,
MA at 7:45pm. Present at the hearing were the following members: Eric E.
Butler, Acting Chairman; Leonard F. Flynn, Acting Clerk and appointed a
voting member in place of George H. Wojtkiewicz; 0. Conrad Lajoie and
Harold R. Collins.
The hearing for the Mansfield Assembly of God, 180 Rumford Avenue, Mansfield
for a Variance from Section IV Schedule B of the Zoning By -Law to construct
church facilities on a lot at 1007 West Street, the proposed building to have
less than a 40' rear yard, which is non - conforming in an Agricultural Zone,
began at 7:45pm. The application was labeled as Exhibit A, the newspaper
advertisement as Exhibit "B ", Plan of land prepared by Paul T. Grover,
Registered Land Surveyor dated October 17, 1985 as Exhibit "C ". The Planning
Board was recorded as being in favor of the application. There was opposition
noted from abutters. The applicant requested that the hearing be continued to
March 18, 1985 to allow his engineer to prepare a more complete set of plans
showing the exact location of the building, proposed parking facilities and
topographical detail.
The hearing for the Greater Attleboro- Taunton Regional Transit Authority
for a variance to install off -site directional signs was not held because it
was incorrectly advertised. It will be readvertised, abutters will be notified
and it will be rescheduled for a later date.
Minutes of January 7, 1986 were read and approved with the note that Mr. Flynn
did attend the meeting.
Bills were signed.
