The Board of Appeals held its regular meeting in the Town Hall,' Mansfield,
MA at 7:45 P.M. Present at the hearing were the following members:
George H. Wojtkiewicz, Chairman; Eric E. Butler, Clerk; Harold R. Collins;
Edward W. Valanzola; Dr. Stanley Sohn, Associate Member and Mary -Lou
Cotton, newly appointed Associate Member.
The hearing for Great Woods Chrysler - Plymouth, Inc. for a Variance from
Section V.H.5 and Section V.H.5.b.1 of the Zoning By -Law to change the
name of the existing signs at 515 South Main Street, owned by Carla
Bortolussi and Daniel F. Bortolussi, Trustees of Cardan Realty Trust of
Hopkinton, which is non - conforming in the Residence A Zone, began at
7:50 P.M. The application was labeled as Exhibit "A ", newspaper adver-
tisement as Exhibit "B" and Plan of Land dated January 19, 1988, pre-
pared by Rim Engineering Co., Inc. of Mansfield as Exhibit "C ". The
Planning Board unanimously voted to recommend that this Variance be
granted for a name change only. Dr. Sohn was appointed a voting member
in place of Conley G. Eagan. Daniel F. Bortolussi was present on behalf
of the applicant. He was represented by Robert Abrams, Attorney from
Fox and Abrams of Framingham. Various photos were submitted of the
signs and locations in question. Mr. Cook, Building Inspector, was also
present at the hearing. He submitted photos from Assessor's records
dated 1981 of the site in question. Negative comments were noted from
interested abutters. Applicant to submit additional information re
sizes and location of all the previous, existing and proposed signs as
well as documentation as to when existing signs were erected, ett.
The hearing closed at 9:20 P.M.
Discussion with Bert Cook regarding the above applicants regarding the
possible expansion of a non - conforming use of same. Zoning Board re-
quested Mr. Cook to send a letter to Great Woods Chrysler- Plymouth, Inc.
with a more definitive stand regarding the expansion of the noncon-
forming use.
Minutes of January 5, 1988 were read and approved.
Sharon to order a copy of Chapter 40A regulations for each Zoning Board
member.
Sharon to send copy of Master Plan Advisory Committee documentation
to all members.
Mr. Wojtkiewicz advised members that the new Town Manager, Mr. Dwyer
expressed an interest in attending a ZBA meeting.
Decision was signed for Barbara Jones.
No bills were signed.
Meeting ajourned at 9:45 P.M.
