Ref. Credit for deletion of seismic clips — ($23,250.00) Status: No Action Taken. Sue Michael Brown noted that JTC /Change Order #20 for a total credit of ($18,015.00) is not signed by Contractor due to dispute over ($24,000.00) seismic credit amount. Paint Dispute — Sue Michael Brown questioned whether the MBC agreed with JTC to pay one half of the mediation fee ($1,000.00) to Coughlin Consulting Services. Coughlin Consulting was hired by JTC in Fall, 2000 to mediate the Commercial Painting dispute. Members felt the opinion given was biased in favor of the Contractor and therefore agreed to table the decision on whether or not to split the cost. Rich Feeley asked that back up documentation referencing time and services be forwarded to the Committee for review. WFDG to follow up with JTC. Gym Bleachers — Due to School Dept. staff having difficulty in pulling out bleachers, representatives from Highland Seating came to the site last week. Sue Michael Brown noted that representatives demonstrated to Walter Parker and staff how bleachers could be easily opened by pulling from the middle vs. pulling from each end. WFDG provided quote from Highland Seating to fully motorize bleachers - $24,770 delivered and installed. Two options for portable systems were estimated at $7,400 for portable power tractor and tug frames and $3,300 for portable operator and tug frames, also delivered and installed. Rich Feeley cautioned that the cost estimates may not include providing electrical power that would be required. No action taken until School Department provides input. Balancing Generator — Discrepancy in determining work required per contract. Based upon original comment from TCI, WFDG issued Bulletin 190 -SI on 10/3/00 to JTC to balance load per contract. Bulletin #190 -PR was reissued to JTC to balance the existing generator load at 30 amps per leg. Cost proposal to be submitted for additional cost to perform work. Paul Letendre to follow up. Change Order Proposal — Review /Approval COP #221B Ref. Replace 8 surface mounted drinking fountains in corridor and 3 new recessed fountains in gym - $18,965.00. QUALTERS MIDDLE SCHOOL Occupancy Issues: • Slope at Cafeteria Ramp - Variance approved. • Handrail Extension — Variance approved if extension causes a safety hazard, which it does. • Handicap Rail on one side only - Variance was not approved by Architectural Access Board. Issue re: Electrical Code states that electrical panel can not be obstructed. Building Code conflicts with these requirements stating that handrail must be continuous to meet code. Discussion was to install a traditional wood handrail on the right side of ramp to cafeteria leaving void at section in front of existing electrical panel including a return piece to wall. MBC to issue notice to Walter Parker, School Buildings & Grounds to coordinate installation. JTC /Application for Payment #24 — Review /Approval Rich Feeley commented that the Monetized Punch List needs to match value of work remaining.
