MHS Track was expected to be open to the public beginning Wednesday, July 10, 2002. Track

FISHER- RICHARDSON HOUSE STABILIZATION PROJECT
Grant Contract — MBC received a signed copy of the contract between MASS -HC and the Town
of Mansfield via a Mansfield Historical Commission Member. Due to the time sensitivity on
some requirements, MBC advised Eric Gradoia (MASAS -HC) that all future correspondence
related to this project should be mailed directly the MBC Office. MBC will keep Mansfield
Historical Commission informed on all key information.
Archaeology Proposals — Discussion opened regarding only one proposal received from
Timelines, Inc. of Littleton to provide an Archaeology Site Exam required by MASS -HC. MBC
Office discussed the low response with Eric Gradoia earlier this week. Mr. Gradoia expressed
support for Town to proceed with Timelines. Mr. Gradoia opinion was that due to historical
specialty qualifications and DCAM certification requirements, re- bidding this work may not
increase Town's level of response for the project. James Bright Architect needs to provide
MBC with a written summary of proposals requested from other firms to do Site Examination
work.
Timelines Price Proposal — MBC appropriated a matched budget amount of $5,000 for
Archaeology work related to this project (Total of $10,000.00). Timelines original price proposal
of $14,732.00 exceeded the dollar amount budgeted for this work. James Bright Architect
contacted Michael Roberts (President, Timeslines, Inc.) to verify the Scope of Work included in
this project was clearly understood by their firm and that the price proposal submitted was based
accordingly.
• In an effort to reduce cost, Timelines submitted a revised proposal (dated July 8, 2002).
Scope of Work in the revised proposal reduced level of excavation to a 12 -inch depth vs.
24 -inch depth. Price was reduced to $11,235.00. The revised proposal also stipulated that
should MASS -HC require additional excavation or if there were significant findings on
site, cost contract would increase.
• MBC to speak with Town Manager regarding option to solicit additional proposals,
attempt to further negotiate price with Timelines, or accept the revised Timelines
proposal.
Northeast Room Access — MBC requested a written response from the Building Inspector
regarding Architect's suggested use ofPlexiglass material to secure area (where floorboards are
to be removed) allowing maximum viewing of interior framing. Still waiting for response.
