BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING - MAYW , X6-4 AM 8: 58

John Walgreen. The Director, Janet Campbell, was also present.' j*oe 'c`o1 [[ fie
meeting at 8:10 a.m. in the Certuse Room of the Mansfield Public Library.
Secretary's report. Minutes of the April meeting were reviewed and approved.
Treasurer's report. The Treasurer's report was not yet available.
Librarian's report. The Librarians' reports were reviewed and highlights discussed.
Patron's discs. The Town's MIS Department having assured Janet that sufficient
safeguards are now in place, the board approved the recommendation to allow patrons to
use their own discs in computers.
Blog. Janet reported her recent attendance at a "blogging" class and the initiation of the
new MPL blog.
Staff. The library has had 25 applicants for the new opening created by Diane's
resignation. Nine candidates have been interviewed. Janet reported on a recent meeting
with the Town Manager concerning the library's continued request for two additional part
time personnel.
Security. Janet reported the extraordinarily prompt response of the Mansfield Police
Dept in recently dealing with four disruptive youths who were apprehended and taken
home in cruisers.
Old Business
Silent study area. Furniture is sclieduled for delivery on or about May 15.
New Business
Director's annual review: The board agreed to commence the June meeting at 7:30 a.m.
to prepare Janet Campbell's annual performance review.
Gifts: Vivian Sweet (former Trustee) has requested donations to the library in honor of
her recently deceased husband. The Berry family has made another substantial gift
($500) in memory of their late daughter.
Next meeting: June 3, 7:30 a.m.
