BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING - JUNE 6, 2009

Attendance: Nancy Breef-Pilz, Leonard Epstein, foe Flynn, John Walgreel, and Director'
Janet Campbell. The meeting was convened at 8:20 a.m.
Secretary's report. Minutes of the April meeting were reviewed and approved. Minutes of
the May meeting were not yet finalized.
Librarian's reports. The librarians' reports were reviewed and details discussed.
OLD BusiNEss
FY10 budget. Planning for next year's budget remains as previously expected, viz. an
overall 5% reduction. A hiring freeze is in effect, although temporary staff substitutes are allowed.
The library will likely need to seek a budget waiver from the Board of Library Commissioners.
Norton Library decertification, Norton's decertification continues to cause complaints to
our staff. The staff continues to efforts to empathetically explain the problem.

Town Meeting. The town meeting has again been rescheduled: June 16.
July 4. The library will be open Monday, July 6, notwithstanding the Town Hall being
closed.
Next meeting. September 19, 2009. The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 a.m.
