BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING - JANUARY 2, 2010
Attendance: Nancy Breef -Pilz; Chris Cormier- Hayes, Leonard Epstein, Joe Flynn, John
Walgreen, and Director Janet Campbell. Joe convened the meeting at 8:20 a.m.
Secretary's report Minutes of the December meeting were unavailable.
Treasurer's report. The treasurer's report for December was reviewed and approved.
Librarian's reports The librarian's reports were reviewed and details discussed.
OLD BUSINESS
Cabling. The cabling issue is under control. A permit has been issued and the work is to be
done soon.
Budget. Janet has heard nothing further but indications are that further town budget
reductions will be necessary and create intense pressure for the library.
Meeting room. The new meeting room rules have been implemented with no problems.
Library newsletter. Using Constant Contact, Janet now sends the library's monthly
newsletter to approximately 2,200 patrons with about 650 actually opening the emails. According
to the company (Constant Contact), the 33% opening rate is very good.
NEW BUSINESS
Legislative breakfast Janet plans on attending the annual legislative breakfast on Friday,
February 5, 8:00 a.m. The Friends will fund attendance.
Director's computer. The board approved replacement of Janet's computer, which has
been breaking down recently.
Board of Trustees. Chris and Joe have submitted applications for reappointment to the
Board of Trustees.
Gifts. Recent gifts were reviewed.
Next meeting. February 6, 2010. The meeting was adjourned 10:45 a.m.
Leonard
