Treasurer's report. The treasurer's report for November was reviewed and approved.
Librarians' reports. The librarians' reports were reviewed and details discussed.
OLD BUSINESS
Staff. Janet announced that Fran will soon be returning to work on a part time basis.
Budget FY13. The board discussed the draft budget submitted by Janet yesterday, noting
particularly proposed increases in salaries and materials including new on -line resources for job
seekers and students. The board discussed the gradual changes over time in the way the materials
budgets have been allocated, with a fairly significant diminution of expenditures for hard -copy
reference materials which are being replaced with on -line resources. There is also growing interest
in downloadable books and materials, with 35 new signups for Overdrive software last month.
Janet noted that Mansfield's usage of downloadable materials is among the highest in Sails.
Sails circulation. Norton and Bridgewater will soon be re- certified and Mansfield will now
be allowing circulation to those towns' residents.
Self defense program. The promoter of the RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) program
discussed last month has withdrawn the request for use of the meeting room.
NEW BUSINESS
Programs. Two free programs will be presented by a CPA organization.
Gifts. Recent gifts were discussed.
Next meeting. January 7, 2012. The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 a.m.
