Surdel
1. Meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.
2. Minutes from October 17, 1990 were accepted as printed by
Powers / Clemmey.
3. Barbara Orlando has been in contact with Matthew Spear from the
Dedham District Attorney's Office. Mr. Spear investigates
discrimation cases. A letter of invitation will be sent requesting
that Mr. Spear speak at our next meeting. We also discussed the
possibility of inviting Carol Lucas to speak. Ms. Lucas is the
President of the West Side Benevolent Circle. The Circle could
possibly refer people to us with housing concerns. It was decided
that Russell Varney should not speak to us as a group, as he has gone
public with his comprehensive permit intentions, instead it was
suggested that Meghan Starkey from the Mass. Housing Partnership would
be a good alternative speaker on comprehensive permits.
4. We are beginning to distribute posters around town. Posters may be
obtained from Marilyn. She had 100 posters printed.
5. Marilyn distibuted a breakdown of low income housing units by
voting precinct. She noted the concentration on units in Precinct
Four. Precinct Two and Four are the only ones that have zoning
regulations that are conducive to multiple family residence units.
The other two precincts are zoned for single family housing only.
Marilyn's report will be incorporated into the Fair Housing Plan.
Meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wed., January 16, 1991 at 6:00 pm.
