Present: Anne Alzapiedi, Barbara Orlando, Marilyn Powers and Nancy
Surdel
1. Meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.
2. Minutes from February 27, 1991 were accepted as printed
Surdel /Powers.
3. Barbara had some information about the fund raising pins, but we
will not be starting any fund raising.
4. April is designated at Fair Housing Month by HUD. Anne suggested
that we contact the Mansfield News to have an article written about
Fair Housing Month.
5. Anne still has not heard anything (positive /negative) about the
Fair Housing Plan.
i 6. Several seminars are planned for the near future that pertain to
housing. Anne will be attending a Fair Housing Conference on April
23, 1991. The conference is sponsored by the Boston Fair Housing
Commission. There will also be a Massachusetts Housing Partnership
seminar held on May 31, 1991.
7. Barbara contacted the Bristol County District Attorney's office,
the public relations representative said they did not have anyone
available to speak at our meetings. Also MCAD has no funding to send
a speaker. We will try to schedule speakers again this fall, when we
can get some advance publicity.
8. There has been an application for a new member, we are waiting for
the selectman to schedule interviews. Barbara will contact Chairman
Sarro in regard to this matter. It was mentioned that we may have to
send a letter to the selectman to have them increase our board size to
seven from five.
Meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wed., May 22, 1991 at 6:00 pm.
