Fair Housing Committee
Minutes
October 2, 1991
Present: Shaun Burke, David Clemmey, Barbara Orlando, Marilyn Powers
and Nancy Surdel
1. Meeting was called to order at 6:20 p.m.
2. Minutes from June 26, 1991 were accepted as printed Clemmey /Powers.
3. Shaun Burke stated that the Fair Housing Plan has been received by
MCAD and we are still awaiting word on compliance.
4. There was a short discussion about potential speakers for future
meetings. William Spaner of Community Development in Attleboro has
been contacted. Mr. Spaner has been concentrating on Attleboro, but
does some grant writing consulting. He doesn't have the time to speak
to other area towns. Mr. Spaner was helpful to Shaun and the Town of
Mansfield during the writing of the Small Cities Grant.
5. Shaun has been contacted by an individual from Plainville that was
interested in writing a joint grant with Mansfield for a de- leading
program.

6. It was mentioned that funding of scattered affordable housing built
on tax title property could be a possible future grant application
project. We should consider Garren Bresnick, Attorney for the Mass.
Housing Association, as a speaker. Mr. Bresnick is a member of the
Ashland Fair Housing Committee and they are developing housing on tax
title land.
7. Shaun suggested that we should have another poster contest.
Barbara. Orlando will contact the Middle School to set the contest up.
Meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wed. November 6, 1991 at 6:00 P.M.
