1. Meeting called to order at 6:00 P.M.
2. Fair Housing Poster Contest
Prizes for the Grand, First, Second, and Third Place winners will be as follows:
Grand Prize: $50 gift certificate and gift certificate for one pizza
The Grand Prize winning poster will be framed and displayed at the library
and in the school's display case.
First Prize: Soccer ball or Basketball and gift certificates for two pizzas
Second Prize: Soccer Ball and gift certificate for one pizza
Third Prize: Bookends gift certificate and gift certificate for one pizza
The tentative date for the prize winners to meet with the Board of Selectmen for
presentation of commendations is March 6, 1996 at 7:45 P.M. The Fair Housing
Committee reviewed the commendations, which the Chairman of the Board of
Selectmen will sign and present. The committee will present the winners with their
prizes the night of the Board of Selectmen's meeting at 7:15 P.M.
3. MCAD Speaker
The committee is awaiting confirmation that Randy Quinn, a speaker from the Mass
Committee Against Discrimination will visit. When the date is set, in six to eight
weeks, other boards and committees will be invited.
As an alternate idea, Mr. Burke will contact the District Attorney's Office to arrange a
speaker, possibly a state trooper involved in investigating discrimination complaints.
4. New Business
Mr. Burke told the committee he had spoken with Tim Higgins, Foxboro Planning
Director, about a contact person at DCPO.
Chairman Webster will be contacting the owner of the group home on old Route 140
to inquire as to how the facility is run, etc.
5. Adjournment
Motion: To adjourn at 7:00 P.M.
