September 24, 1997
PRESENT: Judith Marton, Louise Motyka, Ronald Webster, Sherry Buck, Roland Benoit,
Kathy Davidson; Shuan Burke, Fair Housing Director.
1. Meeting called to order at 6:00 P.M.
2. After considerable discussion, the decision was made to have the theme for the next poster
contest center around "disabilities." The posters should be completed before the
first week in December. Sherry Buck was to inquire at Emerald Mall about the
cost of framing.
3. The committee decided that at our next meeting, we would first review the goals,
objectives and opportunities of the Fair Housing Committee and then present
them to the Board of Selectmen for discussion and approval.

I. Create affordable housing opportunities for qualified Mansfield residents.
A. To form a working partnership between the Board of Selectmen and
Fair Housing Committee.
I. Meet with Selectmen
B. Establish ground rules between Board of Selectmen and Fair Housing
Committee.
1. Advise and make recommendations to Board of Selectmen.
II. Review and evaluate local land use policies and regulations.
A. Study the impact of local regulations on land use, growth rate and
affordable housing development.

B. Work with local Planning Board to update regulatory guidelines.
1. Establish fair and understandable criteria to evaluate affordable
housing proposals.
III. Build and/or remodel affordable housing units.
A. Identify potential funding sources.
B. Identify potential sites.
