MINUTES
April 26, 2000
PRESENT: Ronald Webster, Roland Benoit, Cheryl Buck, Shelly Roberts, Kathleen
Davidson. Also present were Shaun Burke, Fair Housing Director and Michelle Powell.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Fair Housing Poster Contest
Mr. Burke apprised the committee of his visits to the Qualters Middle School sixth grade
classes. Mrs. Betsy Cabana, Health Education Coordinator, is working with the students on
the poster contest.
The commmittee suggested May 12 as a completion date for the posters. It is anticipated the
posters will be judged on May 17 with awards being given on June 7.
The awards were discussed.
Grand Prize: $100 North Easton Savings Bank savings bond — Ron Webster
( Fast Place: $25 Grogan - Marciano Sporting Goods gift certificate — Roland Benoit
Second Place: $10 -15 Book Ends gift certificate — Cathy Davidson
Thud Place: Five Video Mania video rentals — Cheryl Buck, Shelley Roberts
The committee also established the following schedule for its next meetings: May 17 — poster
judging, workshop outline; June 7 — workshop outline, poster contests awards; June 21 —
workshop with Board of Selectmen; June 28 —workshop with Board of Selectmen, alternate
date
Alternate Members
The committee directed a letter to the Board of Selectmen asking to have two alternate
members appointed to the Fair Housing Committee to ensure quorum issues would not be a
problem. It was suggested that Michelle Powell apply to be one of the alternates.
