from June 4, 2013 as written. Seconded by Michael Weber.

3. Questions & Comments:
Kevin Kemp congratulated Sherri on her appointment as the new Director of the Park and
Recreation Department. He mentioned that he spoke with Town Manager, William (Bill)
Ross about the department and how it moves forward. Bill wants a fiesh light put into the
department by adding new programs especially non - traditional sports such as hiking,
volleyball, etc. Bill hopes to have the director position to eventually be a full time position,
but this can't happen until the department shows growth.
4. Facility Requests:
The Commission discussed field reservation requests and permitting as follows:
Megan Hoffman, Southeast Section Director of Special Olympics was present to
discuss using fields at Plymouth Street for a regional soccer tournament on Oct. 20
with a rain date of Oct. 27 from 7am -3pm. It would bring in participants from 40
cities /towns from all over the state. She talked with Matt Savoie and got his approval.
Need 8 spaces for 8 games going all at once.
Issues brought up by Kevin were:
-adult league currently uses the fields on Sunday mornings, but Mitch said he
could be flexible and play "away" that week or finish before they need the field.
- fields being ready after the wear and tear of the MYS Columbus Day tournament
held there so the turf fields would be better. They can use the 6x6 and 8x8 fields
and use cone if necessary which Megan said was no problem.
-MYS could not help out as volunteers as they will have had sponsored the big
Columbus Day tournament the previous weekend. Megan said that they don't
have problems with finding volunteers, but just needed 1 -2 people to be there to
answer questions and who know the facility.

Commission members for review and to be signed. It was signed by Conservation
