1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.
2. Minutes of the Recreation Commission Meeting held on Marchl4, 2011.

NAN'SFIELD.
Motion: By Mitch Bregnard to approve the minutes held on March 14, 2011 as
written. Seconded by Ed Westhaver. Motion passes, 3 -0.
3. Facility Requests:
A. The Commission agree to allow Vernon Howard, RI Soccer, turf field use on Sunday,
May 8 from 10:00- 12:00.
B. We have not received payment from Tim Kaliff.
C. There is a wedding scheduled for the South Common gazebo on Monday, April 25 at
11:00am.
D. Lorilee is scheduled to meet with Melissa Suriani, HS volleyball coach, to discuss court
renovations and equipment. There is $10,107.64 in the volleyball gift fund for use.
E. The Commission discuss soccer and lacrosse shared field use at Hutchason Field. There
was some miscommunication regarding both groups using the field on Friday nights.
Kevin will speak with both representatives to resolve the field use issue.
4. Old Business:
A. The Youth Baseball contract was submitted to the Commission members for review and
approval. Legal Counsel is in the process of review and will advise the Commission on
the legalities of the contract.
B. The Commission is waiting for DPW to report on the maintenance and reseeding issues at
Hutchason Field.
5. New Business:
A. Kevin suggests aerating, seeding, and fertilizing Hutchason Field to support efforts to
keep the field in good condition.
B. Tennis, summer camp, and all summer program registration began on Monday, March 7
with registrations steadily coming in.
C. Fishing Derby volunteers are needed for the May 10 derby.
D. The Recreation Department received a $1,500.00 NPGF grant to refurbish the Old Town
Cemetery on East Street.
E. Girls Softball/Memorial Park received a $7,500.00 NPGF grant for field and dugout
renovations.
F. Sweet `n Crafty and Friendly's Express are each donating 1,000 ice cream coupons for the
Duck Race.
6. Next Commission MeetinE: Monday, May 23,20116:00 PM.
To be held at the Town Hall,
7. Motion: By Mitch Bregnard to adjourn. Seconded by Ed Westhaver.
Motion passes, 3 -0.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:35 PM.
