Attendees Present: Kevin Kemp; Chairman, Ed Westhaver; Clerk, Dave Rapoza,
Mitch Bregnard, Paul Mordarshi
Lorilee Fish, Park & Recreation Director
1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.
2. Minutes of the Recreation Commission Meeting held on May 23,20H.
Motion: By Mitch Bregnard to approve the Recreation Commission Meeting minutes
from May 23, 2011 as written. Seconded by Dave Rapoza. Motion passes, 5 -0.
3. Facility Requests:
A. The Commission agree to permit Danielle Rubin use of Plymouth Street for a greyhound
racing event. She has submitted all necessary paperwork. There is no fee for the rescue
organizations event.
B. The Commission agree to allow Graham Munro of Mass Premier Soccer field usage at
Plymouth Street at a $350.00 maintenance fee and $50.00 per night revenue fee.
C. The Commission discuss and agree turf field usage can be approved by Kevin Kemp and
Matt Savoie in the event Lorilee is not able to be contacted.
D. Michael Donnelly has a check in the amount of $1,000.00 designated for field
maintenance at Hutchason Field. The Commission recommend presenting the check to
the Board of Selectmen.
E. Joe Russo has requested use of the turf field for soccer practice and games Monday
through Friday from 2:15 -4:30.
F. The Over 50 Mens Soccer League has been permitted use of the turf field at $100.00 per
usage.
G. Mansfield Pop Warner has been permitted use of the practice field, football field, and
Hutchason field for games and practices from August through November.
4. Old Business:
A. The Youth Baseball contract was submitted to the Commission members for review and
approval. Legal Counsel is in the process of review and will advise the Commission on
the legalities of the contract.
B. The Commission is waiting for DPW to report on the maintenance and reseeding issues at
Hutchason Field.
5. New Business:
A. The Duck Race is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29 with volunteers needed
B. Lorilee will enter a semi - retired work schedule beginning this next fiscal year. Many
details will have to be arranged with the new schedule.
C. Program registrations are coming in well this year to date.
D. There will be no fee associated with Kevin Smith's MYSA soccer clinic.
6. Next Commission Meetine: Monday, September 19,20116:00 PM.
To be held at the Town Hall.
7. Motion: By Mitch Bregnard to adjourn. Seconded by Dave Rapoza.
Motion passes, 5 -0.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 PM.
