7:30 p.m. meeting was called to order at Town Hall. Present
were Jean Nordbeck, Pat Cataloni, Kate Viens, David Loving
and Barbara Orlando.
Minutes of the January 10, 1991 meeting were approved.
Old Business:
According to Barbara Orlando, no funds exist for the
commission to use this year; we will apply in November to
obtain funds for fiscal year 192 -193. David Loving then
inquired whether or not the commission had used up its gift
account for this year. A printout showing any monies
available to the commission will be ready in about a week.
The last review of funds available for the fiscal year '90-
'91 showed that enough money existed to purchase about seven
house plaques. David felt that the commission should not
engage in fundraising in order to be able to purchase
additional plaques, but should ask for donations of the
product. Barbara felt that asking for donations would not
be successful.
Jean Nordbeck suggested the commission advertise on the
local cable television station for new members. Barbara
will check into this and ask Eleanor in the Town Manager's
office for suggestions on recruiting.
Pat Cataloni will speak with the Town Manager when new
members are recruited to ensure they're assigned three -year
terms, since Vivian Sweet and Diana Reeves left when their
terms expired.
Barbara drove by Bird Cemetery
New Business:
It did not look disturbed.
The commission agreed to send letters to Vivian and Diana
thanking them for their service to the commission and the
town.
David suggested that the commission promote the preservation
of the old post office. Other members agreed.
