MANSFIELD HISTORICAL COMMISSION MINUTES
for March 26,1996 at 7:30 PM at Town Hall
Present: Pat Cataloni, David Loving, Jean Nordbeck and Leslie Pasch. Also attending:
Billie Siena, Karl Clemmey.
The Vice - Chairperson David Loving presided. Claire Dempsey's final report on the
Fisher - Richardson House has been completed save for the last chapter. Three bills must
be paid from the Bay State Historical League grant account: 1. photocopies; 2. SPNEA
photographs and 3. payment for the project director (Kate Viens.) Kate will donate her
fee back to the Commission's gift account. Jean made a motion that we pay the bills, Pat
seconded. All in favor. Leslie will submit the bills to the Town Accountant and send the
reports to the Bay State Historical League. Some of the books recommended by Claire
and purchased through the grant by the Commission have come in. Leslie has sent the
bills to the town for payment. She will also photocopy Claire's report and the paperwork
to the Historical League and route them to each Commission member.
Billie Siena presented information on the purchase of brass or aluminum markers for
the local cemetaries. We could use the $2000 voted at Town Meeting last year for this
purpose. She has contacted Graphic Awards and Trophies in Norton for some prices with
a 20% discount. The plaques could be attached to a boulder, wall or post. The group
was receptive to the idea of using 8" X 14" signs (about $206 each) with names only,
since dates are hard to verify. The cost to attach the signs would be extra. Billie will
return to our April meeting with more information to further discuss the idea.
The correspondence was reviewed.

recommendations. The Aztec statues are outside the construction fence enclosing the
