made the motion. Pat seconded it. All in favor.
Correspondence
1. A memorandum regarding the maintenance of minutes.
2. Department of Environmental Landscape grants program information.
3. A letter from Harry Chase, offering up information on Rev. White and the Mills on
Willow Street.
New Business:
1. The Historical Society has cleaned and painted the Fisher - Richardson House tour signs
and replaced them with the date of the house listed incorrectly. The date needs to be
corrected on both signs.
2. It was agreed to get a copy of the tour script to every third grade teacher in Mansfield
Public Schools each year. Also, a copy should be placed in each school's library.
3. Kate is contacting Lorilee to see if she knows who is responsible for the Fisher -
Richardson House signs. She will tell her that it is because the date is wrong on both
signs. Kate will tell Lorilee that the Commission will be writing to the Society to
change the date.
4. A letter needs to be drafted to the Historical Society asking them if they'd like to
change the date or if not we wilt be glad to.
5. A letter needs to be written to Lorilee asking her politely not to unlock the Fisher -
Richardson house unless someone is present from the Historical Commission or the
Historical Society to supervise it.
6. Lorilee will be asked if the Fire Department needs to check the Fisher - Richardson fire
extinguishers, which could go into the same letter written for item #5 above.
Old Business:
1. National Register Nomination for Fisher Richardson House. Kate and David were
present, as well as Harry Chase.
2. Kate wants to write Claire a letter thanking her.
3. Cemetery plaques - -Old Town has gone up. Kate will do a press release highlighting
the Town cemeteries.
4. Sue LaHoud of the Sun Chronicle want to do an article about the Aztec statues at
Town Hall.
5. Kate learned that the Finance Committee did not approve money for repair of the gas
house roof, but there will be money in the budget for the next fiscal year. They will
include money for the door.
6. The door of the gas house needs to be historically appropriate. Kate got three
telephone numbers and she'll call one of them.
7. It was agreed that we would read the Fisher - Richardson House tour scripts and make
any changes at our next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Charlotte S
