Mansfield Historical Commission Minutes
for April 20, 1998 at 7:30 pm at Mansfield Public Library

Present: Pat Cataloni, Jean Nordbeck, Gean Parks, Leslie Pasch and Kate Viens.
The Chairperson, Kate Viens, presided.
1. Copy of letter to Mansfield Parks & Recreation Dept. awarding 1998 Mass
Historical Commission Preservation Award to Old Town Cemetery Project
2. Newsletter from Rehoboth Antiquarian Society
3. Letter from Selectmen commending Commission for work on National Register
for Fisher - Richardson House
4. Mass Historical Commission workshop notice
5. Community Forum on Historical Records notice from MHC
6. Research Inventory Grant program notice
7. Copy of letter from US Environmental Protection Agency to Town Manager on
Targeted Site Assessment Program
8. Request for information for Community Calendar
The minutes from the April 6 meeting were approved on a motion by Gean,
seconded by Pat. All in favor.
Kate received the National Register certificate for the Fisher - Richardson
House and a color copy will be sent to the Mansfield Historical Society. Kate and
Leslie will take black and white photographs of the interior and exterior of the
house for the grant application on April 21. Kate spoke to Lynn Spencer at the
MHC who suggested including a topographical site survey in our grant request.
This would make it possible to change the grade or comply with ADA. After
discussion, it was agreed that the budget amount cannot be changed at this point.
Kate will speak to the Town Engineer about the matter. The draft of the
application was discussed and final changes made. Leslie and Kate will finish up
{ the application and send it in by May 1.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 26 at 7:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm. Motion by Jean, seconded by Pat. All
in favor.
