The significance of the cemetery and chapel must first be evaluated; the commission has received the forms with which to do a preliminary inventory. That inventory is submitted to MassHistoric, which decides whether the project is worthy of consideration. If so, they will send additional forms to be completed and submitted for review, after which the project is submitted to the National Register. MassHistoric Preservation Planner Phil Bergen has suggested the commission should evaluate the entire cemetery, because there would have to be a very significant reason to include only the chapel building on the National Register. There is already some information about Springbrook in the file. Mrs. Nordbeck will contact the Springbrook Association for additional information, The commission will work on the preliminary forms using this information at its next meeting, following which an invitation will be sent to the Springbrook Association to attend the September meeting, at 8:00 P.M.
