1. Draft letter for brochure update
The commission discussed adding the various funding sources to the letter (Mass
Historic grant, Mansfield Bank gift, town meeting matching funds) and thanking
those groups for their support for the project.
The commission decided to change the fourth paragraph to indicate the house
"has reopened" rather than using a specific date. There should be a specific date
on the letter, however, perhaps under the chairman's name.
Mr. McNatt said the Historical Society has talked about opening at least one
weekend a month during the summer, and said they would not be able to do
school tours this year, He said there is a walking tour scheduled with the Sister
Cities program on May 17 and he would like to include the Fisher - Richardson
house on that tour. He said he hopes to have some of the artifacts back in the
house by then, but wasn't certain that would happen. He said he would like to
make sure the grass is mowed and all construction debris is removed by that date.
Ms. Parks volunteered herself and Ms. Nordbeck to assist during that event.
The commission would like to have the new brochure in the house in time for the
Sister Cities tour.
The commission discussed scheduling a site visit to the house at the March
meeting. We will try to schedule a visit in April so a list of what needs to be done
can be compiled in time for the work to be done by mid -May.
Springbrook/Card Chapel Correspondence
The commission discussed the questions on the National Register application. A
draft will be prepared for the March meeting for the commission's review.
