1. June 25, 2009 minutes
Motion: To approve as submitted (Conboy- O'Malley) 5 in favor. One
abstention. PASSES
2. August and September Verizon and Detection Technology bills (paid)
3. July 28, 2009 letter from Stephen Forrest, EBI Consulting re: proposed
telecommunications facility, 1007 West Street
The commission discussed sending EBI a letter and copying Mass Historic, about
the possibility of Native American activity in that area and asking them to use
caution.
4. July 2, 2009 letter from Brona Simon, Mass Historic to Jennifer McCarthy,
Army Corps of Engineers re: South Coast Rail
5. July 24, 2009 letter from Ms. Simon to Ms. McCarthy re: draft technical report
Continue Inventory Project with cemetery files
t The commission found the following cemetery inventories:
Card Memorial Chapel dated March 26, 1980 and a revised version dated November
2002 and Springbrook Cemetery dated November 2002.
The commission discussed whether the Springbrook Association might have copies of
the other inventories from the Mass Historic list that the commission is missing.
The commission discussed interesting items that came out of the review of the
cemetery files, including Ephriam Leonard's involvement in Mansfield "First
Industry," bog iron, as well as possible slave burials on his former property on Mill
Street.
