Trowbridge made a motion to move forward with the process to construct modular buildings at the high school. Mr. Greenberg 2 "d that motion. The motion passed 5 -0. Motion U.C. 5 -0 Mr. Frank DelVeechio began the discussion with the Committee regarding the expenses needed to go forward with the Architecture fees. The next step would be to inform Roxanne Donovan, Town Treasurer, and request the use of $50,000 of the $500,000 Article passed at the April 2006 Town Meeting for Architectural fees. The consensus was that the modular classrooms would be sufficient for the anticipated growth through 2011 & 2012 and would be the most economical way to go. Mr. Kevin Buckley of KBA Architects outlined a timeline, schematic and preliminary cost for the modular construction project. The presentation encompassed all possibilities of placement and cost along with the assurance that more classrooms could be added if necessary at a later date. The proposed use of brick will make the units esthetically pleasing and durable and was included in the final cost. Mrs. Miller expressed a concern that the classrooms would be to close to the driveway between the QMS & MHS. Mr. Buckley assured Mrs. Miller that the driveway would be widened by eight feet and that there would be concrete barriers along the driveway so that there would be no safety issue with the placement of the classrooms. Mr. Greenberg was not enthusiastic about the look of corporate signage, but was open to the discussion. Mr. Michael Trowbridge had no opposition to the idea along with the rest of the board. The board was in agreement that there would have to be strict guidelines set up by the School Committee and the Committee would have the final approval of all signage. The main questions regarding the idea were that of revenue, content, size, placement and who would be responsible for overseeing the upkeep and overall condition of the signs. The School Committee expects that it would be tastefully done. Mrs. Losiewicz asked what kind of regulations the Town requires for signage and asked that it be checked out. FY '09 Budget Approval: Superintendent, Mrs. Brenda Hodges and Director of Finance, Mr. Edward Vozzella, presented the FY '09 Budget to the School Committee. The Committee asked if the costs for the fuel and electric for the modular units should be included in the budget at this time.
