In areas with multiple units, Ken Gay questioned how heat temperature would be regulated with one isolation valve. Hart needs to verify whether balancing valves are built into each baseboard unit. If not, Hart would need to install balancing valves at these locations. AEI needs to visit the site and re- evaluate this issue before the finish ceiling is installed. • Gas shut —off valve — Hart needs to install a gas shut -off valve to the garage and vehicle wash station. Bob Chapell indicated that Woodard & Curran issued a notice to Hart directing the contractor to install a gas shut -off valve per contract on the inboard side of the building. Status: Issue requires follow up to ensure work is complete. • Automatic control valves — Automatic control valves need to be identified on the final As- Built Drawings. Status: Issue requires follow up to ensure work is complete. • Fire Protection — Hart agreed to contact Bristol Fire Protection and request they rotate the turn valve on the pipe in the rear hall for easier accessibility. Status: Issue requires follow up to ensure work is complete. • Drain/Boiler Room — W &C contends that a trench drain is shown in the drawings to be installed in the boiler room. Reference to the trench drain is shown in Drawing H -2, however the Contractor installed a single drain in this area. MBC discussed options to address potential overflow concerns and decided to request Hart to install a concrete berm around the doorway area to contain potential water overflow in the event of a boiler failure. Ladder safety requirement — MBC members viewed a tall upright ladder, which is installed securely to the wall in the pump station area in order to access the attic. In response to a question about a possible need to install a safety cage around the ladder, Woodard & Curran advised the MBC that cages are only required for ladders over 20 -feet in height. Status: Based on input from Bob Chapell, the ladder installed to access the attic, and the other ladder accessing the mechanical platform in the filter room is lower . than this height. Change Order Log Update Revised COP #18 —Re: Request for Extension of Contract time (42 days) with no associated monetary value. AfflC rejected this claim. Based on review of the original project schedule, roof work was supposed to start in November 2004, which did not happen.
