Meeting Minutes of August 23, 2005

Meeting Commenced at 8:10 PM.
WATER TREATMENT FACILITY PROJECT
Project Status –MBC members feel there has been very little progress, if any, made to complete
items on the most recent punch list dated Aug. 9, 2005. MBC members expressed frustration
with Woodard & Curran in their lack of ability to move the project forward. MBC plans to send
a letter to Project Engineer Bob Chapell, requesting lie follow up on the status of each item and
generate an up -to -date Final Punch List prior to the next MBC Meeting.
Mediation Update: The efforts put forth by the MBC and Town Counsel at a recent mediation
hearing held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 to resolve two disputed claims (COP #3 Re:
Excavation and disposal of Rock Material and COP #11 Re: Add Sprinkler devices) was
unsuccessful. The MBC plans to continue discussion with the General Contractor independent
of the mediator with hopes of resolving the matter.
Property Insurance – MBC Secretary is investigating what steps need to be taken to add the new
Water Treatment Facility to the Town's existing insurance policy through the Town Manager's
office.
INVOICES
Vincent DiIorio Inc. – QMS Additions/Renovations
MOTION to recommend payment to Vincent DiIorio Inc. in the amount of $2,280.00 for partial
services related to the QMS Fire Alarm Modification Project. RF /WM: Passed 5 -0.
National Fire and Security – QMS Additions/Renovations
MOTION to recommend payment to National Fire & Security in the amount of $24,280.00 for
required modifications to the existing fire alarm devices at Qualters Middle School to meet fire
code. Price quotes solicited by MBC for this work are on file. MBC received a copy of a
Record of Completion Form signed by Deputy Fire Chief Richard Towne, as a result of a
satisfactory test inspection completed by him on August 3, 2005. WM : Passed 4 -0.
