MBC MEETING MINUTES - Review /Approval

MOTION to approve Meeting Minutes of February 28, 2006 with edits:
D. Young/K. Gay; Passes 3 -0.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PLAN COMMITTEE UPDATE - -Ken Gay
Ken Gay was elected Chairman of the CIP Committee for 2006. Town Planner Shawn Burke
continues to serve as Clerk for this Committee. CIP will be holding weekly meetings for the
next 5 consecutive weeks and continues to review and evaluate requests submitted by various
departments. Ken noted that the Committee is authorized per Town Meeting vote to spend $7.5
million dollars over a five -year fiscal period on capital improvements for the Town.
Combined funding requests received from various Town departments to date total $5.3 million
dollars. As of this evening the CIP Committee had voted to support the following funding
requests; New radio system and building exhaust system at the Mansfield Police Station and
carpet replacement for Town Hall requested by Department of Public Works, Public Buildings
Division.
CORRESPONDENCE
Ltr. to MBC from Attorney Susan Jacobs re: Town of Mansfield vs. Ashton, Vogel, & Freeman;
Division of Professional Licensure Investigative Conference April 26, 2006.
• MBC to send a letter to Town Manager with their opinion that since the case is settled
MBC recommends the Board of Selectman not to proceed with any future action with the
Professional Architectural Licensing Board.
OTHER
Department Budget Meeting needs to be scheduled with Town Manager's office. Member
Young offered to attend Department Budget Review Meeting with Chairman Moore. MBC
Secretary to set up appointment.
