OTHER
Temporary High School hnprovements — Bill Moore commented that the School Dept. began
foundation work at the high school (250 East St. Mansfield, MA) in preparation for anticipated
delivery and installation of (4) four modular classroom units.
Follow up: MBC has not received a copy of Bid Tab sheet results previously requested ftona
iValter• Parker, School Building & Grounds Mgr. Based upon the last update to the MBC,
Vanguard was the apparent low bidder. No contract was in place at that time. YValter Parker
agreed to provide copies of bid information at the next update meeting with the MBC.
rJ Annual Town Meeting voted favorably on May 20, 2008 to include the classroom
addition project on a Proposition 2 1/2 ballot election Tuesday, July 15, 2008. A "YES"
vote on the question ballot would allow the School Dept. to obtain a bond for the amount
needed to complete the project within the guidelines of debt exclusion.
Brief discussion was held in response to a local newspaper article that raised question about the
timing of construction mobilization that appears to be happening prior to funding approval.
It was mentioned at a previous MBC meeting with Walter Parker that should the ballot vote not
pass favorably, the School Dept. may need to halt construction activity due to lack of funding.
