Budget Update:
Ed will add 2 new buses for the mid -day Kindergarten runs which will shorten the
lengthy bus routes. This will add a cost of $16,000.
A question was raised as to why we needed to pay an additional fee for buses if we
contract them out for the day. Ed advised that this was in line with the structure of
the contract.
Wayne Smith asked if we would be able to look at realigning buses in the future with
expected lower enrollment. Ed advised that this may be valid but not in the near
future.
Current busing figures show that 2 out of 3 students do ride the bus with a total
ridership of 2750. Total is down 200 from last year. Half of these students pay and
the other half do not.
Ed will meet with Bernadette Conroy to get an update on Special Education
Placements.
