Mansfield School Committee Meeting
Minutes for Tuesday, August 26, 2014
Town Hall, Room 2A & B
An Open Meeting of the Mansfield School Committee was held at the Town Hall on
Tuesday, August 26, 2014. There was no executive session. The open meeting
session was opened and called to order by Chairman Michael Trowbridge at 7:08
p.m.

Old Business
Superintendent's Search
The text for the district profile and position announcement for the superintendent's
search that will be distributed by MASC (the consulting search firm) was reviewed
and discussed by the Committee. Changes were recommended to the previous
version of the profile /announcement. At the request of the Chair, Mrs. Cavicchi will
compile the recommended changes and send a final version of the text to Mr.
Trowbridge for submission to MASC.
The process for selecting the teacher representative for the superintendent search
committee was discussed. The consensus of the committee was that a name would
be drawn at random. Mr. Trowbridge will draw a name and notify the teachers of
the selection.
Paperless meetings
The Committee discussed the cost estimate for purchasing the recommended model
of iPad in order to transition to paperless meetings. There was discussion of the cost
benefit of purchasing refurbished versions of the same iPad model. Mr. Trowbridge
called for a motion on the purchasing of iPads for the School Committee. A motion
was made to approve the purchase of a refurbished version of the iPad Air 32 GB
and an iPad cover for each Committee member, lst by Mr. Smith and 2nd by Mrs.
O'Neil. Mr Trowbridge asked that Committee members look at iPad covers on the
Apple website and email him with their individual selections.

Motion to adjourn:
Chairman Michael Trowbridge called for a motion to adjourn the School Committee
meeting of August 26, 2014 at 7:35 p.m. for the sole purpose of adjourning. A motion
was made to close the meeting 1st by Mr. Smith and 2nd by Mrs. O'Neil. A roll call
