Motion U.C. 5 — 0 12- - 1\GY♦ UV011 \LeJ.J Teachers Contracts approval & vote Chairman, Michael Trowbridge, informed the Committee that they had to take two separate votes for the Teachers Contracts. We were notified today that the memorandum was approved by the Teachers Association by a vote today, and although it was discussed in an Executive Session we need to vote on this in an Open Session. Mrs. Hodges noted that Scott (Cohen), President of the Association, had emailed her this afternoon just to let her know that we had an official vote affirming the contract for our teachers. Mrs. Hodges thanked him for emailing her and letting her know. Mr. Cohen then stated that not only was it official, but it was unanimous, to which the Superintendent and the Committee thanked him. Mr. Trowbridge noted that there will be two contracts. One will be for 2013 -2014 and the second one will be for 2015 through 2017. The Superintendent did state for clarification, that because we were right at the end of the year, when we were able to bring the agreement together, then we could do a one year agreement that covered this year and then do a three year agreement for the next three years so that will mean we won't come back together for another year longer than we would have had we not done the one and the three year contract. Mrs. Hodges jokingly asked Mr. Cohen if the teachers objected to that Mr. Cohen did say that that it was voted on as one Memorandum of Agreement but was presented as two. All present were pleased with the results. Just for the public's information the increases were 2014 2015, 1.25% , 2015- 16, 2 %, and 2016 -17, 2 %.
