Brian Vinchesi — Irrigation Consulting, Inc. / Lynda Wightman — Hunter Industries — Discussion of March 29, 2001 Lawn Seminar at Norton Middle School, 215 West Main Street, Rte. 123, Norton, MA Wayne Southworth handed out `Lawn Seminar' brochures and a list of 149 landscapers, etc;. names (asked members to check names to see if anyone is missing); will be doing a regular mailing to established list and town agencies; will do the press release; the program will be two (2) hours; both speakers have consulted with each other; building use is confirmed; would like each town present for seminar. Mr. Southworth then introduced Trent Habig who offered to do some internship for the committee. Short discussion ensued on how Mr. Habig could help. Highlights: prepare press releases; do some video work; the focus has been in recent years is the fact that all the towns have been stressed and some are more desperate that others — there is not enough water to irrigate multiple acres of land; the CRAAC is doing their best to get this education out to the public - need help in promoting same; this seminar should be sent to the different Audubon groups; place local garden clubs on mailing list; create a `question and answer' sheet to go out with the seminar brochure; place seminar on each town's web site; place on cable notes. IV. MILLPOND DAM —Mansfield —Bob Jones/Dick Lewis Bob Jones reported think we are making progress; on 03 -15 -2001 will be opening bids; going to be presented in two ways (with riprap and spillway and with the pond); capital improvement and finance people are very receptive to doing this; think we will get a lot of support on the town hall floor. CRAAC -2- March 1, 2001 V. GREEN BELT PROJECT - Update On Project — Leonard Flynn Maurice Goulet gave an update on mapping: all five town's databases are different which is the main problem; as far as the CRAAC, could change all the databases into one; would like to have a contact in each town to get a mini database going and create the maps. Leonard Flynn: have been checking with Mansfield; need to assign someone to keep each town updated; I think what we are looking for now is a map that portrays what is town owned along the river. Leonard Flynn noted he had a call from Pat Rogers advising him on the status of the land in Norton (along Rte. 495); would like to get a vote from the committee to write a letter to Senator Sprague and Representative Cappola supporting this. William Harden moved, seconded by Fred Watson to authorize Leonard Flynn to write same on behalf of the committee. VOTED VI. RECOGNITION EVENT — Annual Awareness Day — May 12, 2001, Mansfield Fish And Game Club Leonard Flynn noted arrangements are all set. Wayne Southworth; noted Robert Durand is unable to attend; Sharon McGregor, under secretary, has agreed to speak; at the event we are going to recognize all the people who have helped us obtain the greenbelt; that list has to be finalized at the next meeting (Flynn: could you e -mail us the fist so we could check names); Shirley Tufts will be designing the certificate; consensus was to have coffee, donuts, bagels and muffins (Tartufo to check); will need to send a letter to the Recreation Commission for canoes; should have displays for each Water Department.
