Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Mansfield Town Hall, Mansfield, MA.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Southworth, Easton; John Fresh, Easton; Leo
Potter, Foxborough; Ed Tartufo, Mansfield.
OTHERS PRESENT: Jenn Carlino, Norton.
I. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wayne
Southworth at 1:00 PM.
II. REVIEW MINUTES OF THE JUNE 1, 2006 MEETING: Jenn Carlin
made one correction in Item ff III, third sentence: add the word "aquifer" and
delete "CRAAC ". John Fresh motioned acceptance which was seconded by Leo
Potter. The motion to accept the minutes as amended passed.
HI. OPEN SPACE AND GREENBELT UPDATE: Jenn Carlin reported two
parcels in the Town of Norton have been recorded at the registry.
IV. RECAP ANNUAL CANOE RIVER AQUIFER ADVISORY AWARENESS
DAY: The CRAAC Annual Awareness Day was held on Saturday, June 3, 2006
at the Mansfield Water Treatment Plant. The canoe trip was rained out but Steve
Bishop provided everyone with an excellent tour of the Mansfield Water
Treatment Plant.
V. CRAAC WEBSITE PROJECT: Wayne reported that no activity has taken
place on this project during the summer.
VI. ELECTION OF OFFICERS: The Committee agreed to postpone the election
until the next meeting.
VII. THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT: Ed Tartufo and Jenn Carlino spoke with
Jim O'Mara, Manager and Brian Connor, Marketing Director, of the Tournament
Players Club (T.P.C.). The best time for the event would be November or March.
The Committee discussed having a sponsor to help defer some of the cost. Jenn
will make contact with T.P.C.
VIII. UPCOMING WATER CONSERVATION WORKSHOP AT THE EASTON
WATER DIVISION: Jack Marsh will notify all of the water divisions as soon
as he sets a date for the Water Conservation Workshop.
IX. NEW BUSINESS: Wayne distributed an e -mail address for the U.S.
Ecological Survey, which lists the locations of their river monitoring stations.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 PM. The next meeting will be held at 1:00 PM
on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Easton Water Division.
