H. REVIEW OF MINUTES — Minutes of March 2, 2006 meeting were approved.
IH. OPEN SPACE MAP & GREENBELT UPDATE-
Jenn updated the committee that she is going to be attending the Norton Town Meeting on May
80' for a grant on tax titled land. Jenn thinks that parcel could be in the aquifer by Lincoln Street
in Norton; she isn't sure if it is near the Hockomock land or not. Also, there could be a random
piece by the Canoe River. She doesn't have the total acres but will update everyone when she has
more information.
Jenn also announced there will be a Canoe Trip held on April 29a` for the Wildlife of Habitat. If
anyone would like more information regarding this event, please contact her.
IV. ANNUAL AWARENESS DAY — DATE AND LOCATION: JUNE 3, 2006 AT THE
MANSFIELD WATER TREATMENT PLANT -
Wayne handed out flyers for the Awareness Day to review with the committee. Hosting the event
will be Steve Bishop, Assistant Superintendent of Mansfield Water Department. Everything is in
place for this; Janet Simolari will create a press release 2 weeks prior to the event in the local
papers.
David suggested possibly finding a different picture for the cover of the flyer (flyer now is
showing just the inside of the Water Treatment Plant in Mansfield). One of the suggestions could
be a split picture of the Water Treatment Plant and a picture of the river. Wayne will update and
present it to the committee at the next CRAAC meeting.
V. FUTURE CRAAC WEBSITE OPTIONS-
Jack Marsh has been involved with the Plymouth County Water Works website. Jack advised the
committee that it's a very smart move for the CRAAC to have their own site. It's a very time
consuming project and they should have no more than one person involved in updating the page.
Cost of the webpage for a minimum one -year registration is $200.00 but any bells and whistles
could cost more. Having a website for CRAAC could help clean up mailing lists and save money
on mailings. It could also benefit in CRAAC minutes.
Robert had suggested maybe charging the each member Water Division a fee to go toward the
webpage. He also suggested maybe having Jack be in charge knowing he has experience in this
field. Jack did say that he would also have to bill the committee for his time.
A motion was made by Robert Boette and seconded by John Fresh Jr. to have Jack Marsh submit
a proposal for the CRAAC website. The motion was voted unanimously by the committee.
Jack Marsh will make a proposal on what will be involved and the total cost on the website for
next meeting.
VII. NEW BUSINESS-
Wayne received a call from Suzanne Ericson concerning the 40B on Bay Road in Norton, east
side of Bay Road & Lincoln Street. Jenn only knows there is no application yet and it hasn't gone
before the Zoning Board. She does know there are wetland boundaries. Suzanne also suggested to
Wayne and the committee the possibility of writing a letter to the Board of Selectman in Norton.
Jenn advised stating if the town of Norton could take into consideration the storm water and if the
ground water recharged to go back to the aquifer.
A motion was made by CRAAC to have Wayne Southworth create a letter to the Norton Board of
Selectmen Chairman Robert Kimball; the motion was voted unanimously by the committee.
Jack Marsh updated that the Town of Easton has received a $30,000 grant for a training program
on water conservation with Amy Victors, Engineer. Jack is still waiting for the grant to be signed
by DEP. Once that happens, the ball can get rolling. Training is geared toward Water Personnel,
not residents, but they can do water audits on residents' homes. CRAAC members are allowed to
be a part of this training also.
Wayne announced the following Town of Easton celebrations: April 280' Arbor Day Tree
Planting; April 29"' Water Department Open House; May 13a Hazardous Waste Day; June 3`a
Annual CRAAC Awareness Day.
VIII. OLD BUSINESS-
No old business.
Next meeting is in the Foxboro Town Hall.
Meeting adjourned at 1:45 P.M.
