Meeting Minutes
March 3, 2011
Minutes of the meeting held by the Canoe River Aquifer Advisory Committee on
Thursday March 3, 2011 beginning at 1:00 PM at the Sharon Community Center
One Community Drive, Sharon, MA.
Members present: Wayne P. Southworth, Easton; Janice Fowler, Easton; Kevin
O'Donnell, Mansfield; John Fresh Jr. Easton; Frances Sherlin, Norton; Jonathan Rowe,
Norton; Leonard Flynn, Mansfield; Jennifer Carlino, Norton.

IL Review Minutes of March 3, 2011f
Minutes accepted.
III. Open Space Map & Greenbelt Update
Bill Buckley reviewed development plan for "204 East Street, Foxboro
(August 10, 2011, plan 10-0 1 24A)"Three options:
• Conservatory to purchase land for conservation purposes and access
off East street ( preferred solution )
• Single Family sub division open space design
• Conventional open density
Will have to go in front of planning board, (Town of Foxboro) to pursue any
further. Mr. Buckley brought this to the committee to get feedback from the
CRAAC members.
IV. CRAAC Educational Outreach Kiosk Discussion
Wayne: researched would be very expensive to purchase.
Discussion Kiosk: on a free standing, no taller than 5'x 3; two sided or maybe
three sided triangle; corkboard; use Velcro on a felt board or a metal sheet
with magnets.
Suggestion: Touch base with Regional schools and Town Offices. Maybe
"Eagle Scouts" to build. CRAAC members will have to create specs.
Wayne will draft up letter to Library to see if Kiosk can be displayed.
V. Discuss Canoe River Awareness Day 2011 at the Mansfield Water
Treatment Plant
Kevin: this event is a good idea with the 4.8 million bid on upgrades to the
Water Dept. Adrienne can help with flyer. Gun club could be an option if it
rains. Will have a couple people to take tours to the Scada System.
Wayne: will write letter to Easton Recreation Dept to borrow canoes.
VI. CRAAC 250' Anniversary Celebration — Three Locations
• Sharon Community Center
• The Players Club Facility in Norton
• Borderland State Park
Voted to have Celebration at the Town of Sharon Community Center.
Discussion: Seeing what dates are available at the Community Center; having
it during the day or at night; options for food -Uncle Ed's Back Porch or
maybe having something lighter like cheese & crackers, wine and small
desserts.
VII. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 2:15p.m.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 7 '11 at the Foxborough
Public Safety Building at 1:00 pm.
