All three members were present to establish a quorum. Also attending the meeting was Mansfield resident Mike Lattari; shelter volunteers Suzanne Berry and Tara DeVeau. Ms. Parks reported on the meeting she and Chris Marion had with Chief O'Neill to discuss the AWC financial account and other issues. The AWC is now in control of the financial account and, thanks to the subsequent activities of Mr. Marion and Jeff Collins, funds Intended for the AWC account that had been deposited in another Town account were identified and efforts will be made to make the appropriate transfers to the AWC account. It was requested that all future funds from the animal shelter not related to fines should be handed over to Mr. Miller for deposit into the AWC account. The Committee voted to reimburse Linda Sohn -$302 for animal care that was paid out of her own pocket in October 1994. Other outstanding invoices will be double- checked by Mr. Miller with Mr. Collins and the Mansfield Animal Hospital, before being paid. And, Mr. Miller was to confirm with Mr. Collins what items were being paid out of the Town Animal Control account and what items the AWC was expected to cover, Regarding the donated van for shelter use, the Committee voted to request detailed information about the repairs before authorizing payment. The Committee wishes to thank a group of volunteers who have been cleaning and painting at the shelter over the last two weekends. In addition to the many hours of hard work, these volunteers also donated the paint and supplies. They asked about having a new front door and a dusk -to -dawn light installed (outside the front door) — this will be pursued. Work was begun on a mission statement for the Committee, as well as a list of short- and long -term goals. The AWC will refine this list and then prioritize the items before meeting with the proper individuals (if necessary) to resolve the issues and accomplish the goals. We set Thursday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. (Town Hall) as the next Committee meeting. Res ectfully submitted, Matt Miller - Chairman, Animal Welfare Committee cc: Committee Members Animal Control Officer, Arthur O'Neill Animal Humane Officer, Jeff Collins Town Clerk, Judith F. Scott
