The Animal Welfare Committee met on April 25 at the Town Hall. Five of the seven members
were present to establish a quorum. Also attending the meeting were shelter volunteers Tara
DeVeau, Connie DeVeau, Suzanne Berry and Dick Davenport.
The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and approved them.
• No money was deposited since the previous meeting. Therefore, the spay /neuter account
remains at $220, the general funds account totals $1,115.02 and the new shelter fund
account totals $28,909.03. The AWC total account balance is $30,244.05.
• The Committee voted to reimburse Suzanne Berry $40 for the money spent for the April 6
Savas birthday part at the Shelter. We also voted to pay the Brockton Enterprise $32.40 bill
for the June 1 Flea Market advertising.
• Activities related to the June 1 Flea Market and other fund - raising activities were discussed.
• A work party cleaned the vacant room at the Shelter which will possibly be used as a cat
isolation area and for volunteer office space. A sub- committee will make a recommendation
on what to do with this room.
• As directed, all of the dogs have been tested for heart worm and new dogs will be
scheduled as necessary. Since the Town will not pay for heart worm testing, this testing will
be paid for by the AWC out of adoption funds.
We set Thursday, May 30, 1996, at 7:30 p.m. (Town Hall) as the next Committee meeting.
