The AWC was inquiring, as instructed by the Board of Selectmen, about setting up a budget account for dog license fees and expenses at the shelter. Another request included a possible discussion of available Town land for the proposed new shelter. Geanine Parks and Matt Miller will request a meeting with Mr. Williams. • To date, no response has been received from Chief O'Neill regarding "Kitty City." He was to contact experts to determine if there was a concern about cats transmitting diseases. • Work continues on the new cat room. Final items include the installation of a sink, and painting the entire room. The work will be completed within the next few weeks and the new cat room will be opened. The old cat room will serve as an isolation area for all new cats. The AWC voted to authorize the purchase of three new cat cages at $120 each, however, these cages are now being donated for the new room. • A new dryer was donated and installed (by a volunteer) to replace the broken one. • The Chairman presented preliminary 1996 shelter activity figures for AWC review.
