Present were:
Stacy Howard - Chairperson
Ana Molina- Veliella — Vice Chairperson
Betsy Wagner
William Gerber - Secretary
Jeff Collins — Animal Control Officer
The meeting was called to order at 7:35PM.
It was announced that David Cass had informed the Committee that he was resigning from the Committee but remaining
on the Mansfield Shelter Friends, Inc. Board of Directors.
It was also announced that Kevin Moran (Alternate) desired to be replaced as Secretary of The Mansfield Shelter Friends
and the Animal Welfare Committee.
A motion was made by A.M -V. and seconded by W.G. to appoint Stacy Howard as Chairperson of the Animal Welfare
Committee. Motion passed 3 -0.
A motion was made by S.H. and seconded by W.G. to appoint Ana Molina- Vellella as Vice Chairperson of the Animal
Welfare Committee. Motion passed 3 -0.
A motion was made by S.H. and seconded by A.M -V. to appoint William Gerber as Clerk of the Animal Welfare
Committee and Secretary of The Mansfield Shelter Friends, Inc. Board of Directors. Motion passed 3 -0.
The Committee restated the objective to keep the meetings to an hour or less.
SH as the new Chairperson and A.M -V. as the new Vice Chairperson of the Animal Welfare Committee will schedule a
meeting to introduce themselves to the Town Manager as the contacts for the Committee.
The Town Account balances were presented by S.H. as follows:
Fines and Boarding $6,361.00
Spay /Neuter $1,431.00
General Fund $2,953.55
Total $10,745.55
Debbie Woods is processing Thank You Notes for the Mansfield Shelter Friends donations.
W.G. announced that the Mansfield Shelter Friends Building Fund "Gift Account" was set -up at the Mansfield Bank. He
reported that the Account has a current balance of $800.00. W.G. thanked the friends and relatives of the late Nina
Carlson for making donations to the Building Fund in her memory. W.G. is sending Thank You notes for donations to the
Building Fund. S.H. and A.M -V. expressed a desire to have other signers added to the Account in addition to W.G.. W.G.
will add one of them as signer to the account.
An interest in having another signer added to The Mansfield Shelter Friends Accounts was also stated.
SH made a motion to approve payment of $625.00 to have Suzie -Boo spayed and treated since she was supposed to
have been spayed prior to her adoption. Seconded by B.W.. Motion passed 4 -0
It was reported that the Canoe River Campground is closing for the winter. This presents a problem since several cats
that are being fed by the residents will need to be placed in homes or relocated. It is hoped 4 -5 can be placed in a barn.
Investigation into the cause of the death of two kittens in foster care is underway.
Volunteers are need for Saturday from 4:30PM to 6:30PM night to help with the dogs. W.G. will help this week and ask
for volunteers in his article.
A motion was made by WG to adjourn and seconded by BW. Motion passed 4 -0 at 8:15PM.
