Call to Order — The meeting of the Animal Welfare Committee was called to order at 7:30 at the
Mansfield Town Hall.
Correspondence — From Norton Animal Hospital, a letter defining discounts available to the
shelter: 30% off regular visits, $80 for feline spay and $50 for feline castration. Sharon Baker
took the letter for MSF consideration.
Election of Officers — Nominations and election of the Chairman and Vice - Chairman were
postponed to the February meeting.
Motion —By Bill Gerber to nominate Mary Andrews for the position of Clerk to the
AWC. Seconded by Sharon Baker. Motion passed unanimously.
AWC Vacancy — With Amy Magee's move out of Mansfield, there is a vacancy (alternate) on
the AWC. The AWC clerk will contact Amy to inquire if she has sent a letter to the Board of
Selectmen to notify them of the vacancy.
Hill's Shelter Program — The AWC discussed signing on to the Hill's Shelter Program which
provides free food, but charges .25/lb. for freight. Those present agreed to go ahead with the
program if there is no objection from Jeff Collins or the Police Chief after they review the
contract.
Sign for New Shelter — Jeff has not heard from Mansfield Sign about the status of the sign we
ordered. He will contact Mansfield Sign to check.
Motion: By Sharon Baker to adjourn. Seconded by Mary Andrews.
Motion passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
