The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:35 at the Mansfield Town Hall.
Minutes
Motion: To approve minutes from January 18rh meeting. (Mary/Bill) 5:0 Passes
Space at the Shelter
Because there are no dogs and few cats at the shelter, Jeff and Ana suggested helping other shelters that
have helped us. Since Plainville recently donated a large quantity of kitty litter, Sally will contact them to
ask if they have a few animals we can house in the Mansfield Shelter.
New Shelter Sign
Jeff will look into the status of the sign. Mansfield Sign was closed when he tried before.
Vacancy on the AWC
Motion: To email shelter volunteers who are Mansfield residents to notify them there is a vacancy on the
AWC. (Mary/Sally) 5:0 Passes
Vaccinations
Lucy was apparently adopted without being UTD. Mary volunteered to make a monthly check of database
vaccination records, and notify Sally and Ana of animals that need to be vaccinated.
Spay Waggin Fees
Jeff and Ana suggested that adopters be advised that taking animals to their own vets for spay /neuter is
the first and preferred option. They also suggested that if the shelter continues with a high volume of SW
surgeries the price should be raised to $70. Ana will adjust paperwork and notify volunteers of the
change.
Election of Officers
Nomination of Chairman and Vice - Chairman for '07 had been postponed at last month's meeting to the
February meeting.
Motion: To hold elections for Chairman and Vice - Chairman. (Mary/Bill) 3:2 Passes
Motion: To nominate Sharon for Chairman. (Mary/Bill) 5:0 Passes
Motion: To nominate Ana for Vice - Chairman (Bill/Sally) 5:0 Passes
Adjournment
Motion: To adjourn at 8:45. (Sharon/Bill) 5:0 Passes
