The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:35 at the Mansfield Town Hall.
Minutes
Motion: To approve minutes from the May 24th meeting. Passes
New Shelter
Sharon requested that interior layout and site plan designs be emailed to MSF directors.
Kitten Status
Vanessa is fostering six kittens, born of Giada on 6/19/07.
Spay Waggin
*Spay Waggin fees are now $60: $30 deposit on adoption, and $30 paid on day of SW.
*June's SW is scheduled for Thursday, 6/28.
Celebration of Animals
• Date: 9/8. Tufts and Pet Rock are the same weekend, so some schedule conflicts with
rescues.
Reviewed rescues and vendors who have accepted or declined.
Jeff will investigate getting Rainforest Reptiles and reduced or no cost.
Raffle: Ana will send general email to all volunteers asking for raffle items, possibly
provided by employers.
Spay/Neuter for Dogs
Topic for next meeting: Should dogs be allowed to be adopted without being spayed or neutered if the
owners sign the contract or if the dogs are small enough to come back to the SW. The objective is to have
owners pay the cost of spay /neuter to reduce MSF vet bills.
Shelter Hours Sign
Jeff will look into getting a new sign for the shelter with the correct shelter hours posted.
