The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:35 at the Mansfield Town Hall.
Minutes
Motion: To approve minutes from the June `08 meeting. Passes

Jeff expects to see more surrenders and "dumps" as a result of the poor economy. He asked AWC
members to think about criteria for selecting dogs to remain at the shelter if overcrowding
becomes a problem.
Celebration of Animals - Sept. 27th
• r -snots & Sweat Snorts: rotary will check what was oraerea Last year.
*Book Table — Karen Prevett offered to organize the book sale, and send emails
requesting book donations from volunteers and their friends. She will store books at
her home until the Celebration.
• Sharon will contact Ana about organizing details and volunteers for this year's
Celebration.
• Sharon will ask Ana if Stacy has been able to get raffle items.
Air Conditioner
Jeff removed the cover of the main cat room AC, and found mold and dust clogging the grille. He
will contact Mike Ahern (DPW) before going to a private source to see if the AC needs to be
cleaned, recharged with coolant, or replaced with a new unit. Sharon will inquire at her lab about
the best method for cleaning mold. If the 5,000 BTU unit needs to be replaced it would have to be
installed by town employees, and be the correct size to fit the existing cutout.
Storage Shed
Jeff expects the second storage shed will arrive at the shelter by next week. It will eventually have
shelves like the current shed, but for the present it can be used to store larger items.
Adoption Application
Mary will email the revised application to AWC members for their suggestions and comments,
Members will review the application and decide at the next AWC meeting if they want to
implement the revision.
