The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. at the Mansfield Town
Hall.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve minutes from April 15, 2010. Passes.
Fostered Cats
Sharon: Koosh (6 me. quarantine); Shelly — no change; Tippy - doing well, with no change in
medical condition. Sunshine — going to new owner this weekend.
Emily: Koi & Lani — will come to the shelter on Saturday; Koi has an approved application.
There are two other kittens that Emily is still fostering. Jeff and Sharon will get their
names and fill out paperwork. All of Emily's kittens will have had their first vet visit
and shots by the weekend.
Dogs
Daisy — The evaluation indicates that Daisy should be available for adoption. Jeff will contact the
people who applied for her some time ago to see if they're still interested. Jeff will make an
appointment to get Daisy vaccinated and spayed.
Foxboro Dogs — The two shepherds were returned to their owner.
Spay/Neuter Calls
Only a couple of last year's kitten adopters have not replied to Mary's numerous voice mail and
email messages. For more recent adopters, Ana is working with Kate Megin, and Mary will call
J.C.'s owner to see if the cat went for the spay appointment at MAH that was scheduled before
the adoption.

New Shelter Update
*The bulk of the equipment has been delivered by the HVAC company, but they are still
slow in completing the work because they don't come regularly.
*Lou Andrews has been installing wiring for the alarm system, the video camera setup,
and plywood backing for shelving, etc.
*The Town painted parking stripes on the parking lot.
•A sign is in the window to indicate to visitors that the new shelter is still under
construction, and the current shelter is at the end of the road.
Cats
Quarantine Room cats — Jeff will try to make an appointment for this Friday to get vaccinations
for Pocus, Wendall, and Yiddy.
Tinkerbell has an appointment next Tuesday to be spayed at IVIAH.
Andes — Jeff will get parasite medicine to treat Andes, who had repeated episodes of vomiting
and diarrhea, and whose housemate, Viola, had worms and is being treated.
